“Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated.” – Confucius.

A friend of mine posted this quote on Facebook recently and I thought how true this is, but easy to forget.  Society is often so focused finding complicated solutions when the answers are already in front of us!

Doctors often prescribe drugs in place of healthy food, exercise and meditation. Food manufactures process foods to make them ‘healthier’, when the healthiest options are natural whole foods with nothing done to them at all. It’s nice to see some brave people leading the revolution against the current health paradigm. As Hippocrates is famously quoted ‘Let food be thy medicine’.  It’s so refreshing to see people like Kris Carr (Crazy, Sexy, Life) – beating cancer through a healthy diet and inspiring others to eat their way to good health. Not everyone is so lucky, but good diet and exercise is for sure the best thing we can do if we want to lead long healthy lives.

Any intelligent fool can make things bigger and more complex.  It takes a touch of genius – and a lot of courage – to move in the opposite direction.  ~E.F. Schumacher

It’s this model of keeping things simple that make our retreats so popular. You can’t beat the combination of  yoga, outdoor exercise, simple food and good company. Think about how you could make your life less complicated and more fulfilling. If you need to get some good habits in place and remind yourself  just how good the simple life is come and join us on one of our retreats. We hope to see you soon.
